Croatia is one Europe’s most beautiful and under-appreciated travel destinations. Located on the northeastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, across from Italy’s east coast, south of Hungary, and west of Serbia and Montenegro . Croatia is a lovely surprise with more than 1000 miles of coastline along the mainland and with over 1100 islands, 66 of which are inhabited, adding another 2500 miles of coastline. While it’s easy to understand why Croatia’s main tourist attraction has always been its beaches there are also several carefully conserved national parks, and an abundance of architectural and cultural history.
